Caring For Your Candle

10 oz. CANDLES + TINS + TRAVEL MINIS

Initial Burn (Creating a Wax Pool):  The first time you use your Love Ground candle, burn it long enough to create a "wax pool" to prevent tunneling. Be sure to allow your candle to burn from edge to edge (approximately 1.5–2 hours), creating an even full pool of wax. Soy wax has a memory which means it will burn to the exact spot it started from on 1st lighting. This will encourage a maximum scent throw, even burn and longevity of your candle.

Clean Wicks: Always keep your wick trimmed to ¼ inch to achieve a clean and long burn time. This will prevent your candle from creating a high flame, and melt pool that is too deep, excessive soot (black smoke) and mushrooming.

Cotton wicks will create a “mushroom” top after each burn.  Be sure to always remove or cut the top before each burn to prevent smoking. This also ensures a clean burn. Never trim your wick too short, the wax will flood your wick causing issues for relighting.

taper & pillar CANDLE care

Initial Burn: Always burn vertical (upright) and keep away from areas with a draft.

Wick Care: Wicks MUST remain trimmed for both pillar and taper candles. Never burn for more than 2 hours at a time. If your wick is too long, trim it no shorter than a half inch- otherwise you will experience excessive dripping.

Safety: Always place on a heat-safe dish and in a candle holder that is the correct size for your candle. Your candle should fit secure and snug. Never leave unattended, and keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep away from long drapes and plants.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

  • Burn in a draft free area, on a flat surface.

  • Keep out of reach from children.

  • Keep out of direct sunlight, soy wax has a low melting point.

  • Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Discontinue burning your candle when there is less than ½ inch of wax remaining.

  • Never leave unattended.

  • Keep your candle free of foreign matter, such as wick trimmings.
